Important Royal Mail International Shipping Changes From 5 January 2026

December 22, 2025

We have been informed that from 5 January 2026, Royal Mail will introduce important changes to how certain international services can be used when sending goods. If you ship internationally using Royal Mail through StoreFeeder, you may need to update your shipping setup ahead of this date.

What is changing?

Royal Mail is changing how a number of services can be used for Non-Personal Correspondence (NPC). As part of this change, International Tracked & Signed and International Signed services will no longer be valid for sending goods.

If you currently use these services to ship products internationally, you will need to move to an appropriate International Tracked service instead.

Royal Mail has also confirmed that several service codes used for NPC will be replaced with new equivalents from January 2026.

Service code changes for Non-Personal Correspondence

Below is a list of the affected service codes and the new services they will change to. Each line shows the existing service code followed by its replacement.

It is important to familiarise yourself with what these changes mean for you and the product codes you will be required to access from 5 January 2026. The correct service codes will be determined by the item content being sent.

If these new service codes are not already available in your Royal Mail account, they will be automatically added where applicable.

What this means for StoreFeeder users

If you are affected by this change, you will need to take the following steps.

  1. Update your Shipping Methods
Review any Shipping Methods in StoreFeeder that use International Tracked & Signed, International Signed, or any of the NPC service codes listed above. These should be updated to the new, valid International Tracked services.
  2. Update your Shipping Rules
If you use Shipping Rules that reference the affected shipping methods, make sure these rules are updated to point to the new services as well.

Why this is important

If these changes are not made before 5 January 2026, any attempt to despatch orders using the affected Royal Mail services will fail. Royal Mail will no longer accept these services for goods, and StoreFeeder will return an error at despatch.

What should you do next?

We recommend reviewing your international shipping setup as soon as possible to ensure you are fully prepared ahead of the January 2026 deadline. Updating early will help avoid any disruption to your international order fulfilment.

If you need help reviewing or updating your shipping configuration, our support team is always happy to assist.
