Meet Our team | James Morton Lead Dev Ops
December 29, 2022
To close out 2022 the meet our team juggernaught rolls back into StoreFeeder Towers and this week we finally go upstairs to the guys who make the StoreFeeder wheels turn. Without further ado let's meet James Morton!
What do you do at StoreFeeder?
My role at StoreFeeder is Lead DevOps Engineer, and I spent most of my time working with the development teams to solve challenges they may be facing. This ranges from improving code deployments, monitoring, alerting, security, and testing capabilities.
What problem faced by eCommerce companies is it that you want to solve?
Reducing friction and saving time is a big motivator, and so ensuring our products deliver on that reliably is important to me.
What are your past credentials?
Prior to working at StoreFeeder I spent the previous five years working as C# Developer in financial services. It was at StoreFeeder I made the gradual transition to DevOps based on the needs we experienced at the time, which I discovered I loved doing and so made the switch permanently.
How do you fit into the StoreFeeder make-up?
I’ve always been one for looking for new innovative ways to solve the challenges associated with scaling out our products so that we’re able to meet new demands and serve many more customers.
What do you like best about working at StoreFeeder?
StoreFeeder is full of talented and hard-working individuals.
We’re always pushing forwards and learning from each other along the journey, and help is always nearby when you need it.
What is the primary benefit a company gets by signing up for StoreFeeder?
StoreFeeder removes a lot of friction that would be experienced by trying to manage channels independently, and so having that control all in one place saves customers countless hours of time that can instead be spent improving their businesses.
Inventory management to prevent overselling products on marketplaces is a hugely useful feature and would be impossible manage without automation.
What values drive you?
Humility and determination are important values to me.
Who’s your favourite band?
System of a Down
Would you rather be in jail for five years or be in a coma for a decade?
Put me in jail, a decade is simply too long!
What is your favourite quote?
“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life." -Steve Jobs
What do you like to do when you’re not shoulder to the grindstone at StoreFeeder?
Mostly spending time with the family, and especially getting the kids outdoors as much as possible. I also enjoy working on side projects and going out for the occasional run.
That in a nutshell is James, meet our team will return in 2023.
