Welcome to the latest Release Updates post.

The leaves are still falling; spooky season comes to a close as we transition into the winter period with a host of fireworks throughout each night. It seems as if the Christmas period seems to be starting earlier and earlier each year, I think Halloween has become a line it wont cross but bonfire night now takes place during Santa's descent onto our supermarket shelves!

And of course, this marks the start of an exceptionally busy time for all of our StoreFeeder users! As always we are here to help throughout the Black Friday and Christmas periods; our knowledgeable and friendly support team are just a message or call away should you need assistance with something.

As per usual, our developers have been working hard to bring you an exciting update this month. There has been a lot of work in the background (which you can read about here) but there have been some great updates and new features released this past month, the highlights of which are below:

Shopify Order Cancellation Sync

When an order is cancelled on channel, we recognise it can be a bit of a pain to then replicate that in StoreFeeder; we'd like to reduce the amount of work needed where possible and so much like our eBay integration, thanks to this latest update, Shopify will now automatically cancel an order in StoreFeeder if it is cancelled on channel.

This is something that will happen by itself, there is no toggle that needs switching on to activate it. We hope this helps makes the order cancellation process less of a burden.

Shopify POS Order Flag

Point of sale, or POS for short, orders sometimes require slightly different handling than orders placed on your website. In StoreFeeder, there used to be no real way to distinguish between the two types of orders from the overview or picking pages which can cause some confusion in terms of order processing and lead to some slight inefficiencies. Well, at StoreFeeder we are all about eliminating inefficiencies and this one was the next target we set our sights on.

To fix this issue we've added a new "Point of Sale" flag in StoreFeeder that is automatically applied to your POS orders when they are imported from Shopify, you can see an example of this below:

This flag can now be used to both distinguish and filter your POS order's from the website orders on the 'Manage Orders' and 'Picking' pages. Hopefully this helps ease the picking & packing process ever so slightly.

Royal Mail Dangerous Goods Label

Royal Mail have added a new addition to the labels of some of their already existing services. These changes come in the form of a small addition to the label: a "NO FLY" section as you can see below:

This is used, and perhaps this may be stating the obvious, to alert Royal Mail that there are dangerous goods present in the package and that it should not travel by aircraft.

If you want your labels to include this and help speed up the delivery, then you'll need to create a shipping method for each service you send dangerous goods by and make sure the "Dangerous Goods Enhancement" toggle is switched on when you do so as you can see here:

And don't forget that you'll also need to create new shipping rules to ensure these methods are correctly applied to the right orders when they are imported into StoreFeeder; perhaps using the criteria of including a product that has the "Hazardous" flag on it. If none of your products have this flag added to them yet, you can do this in bulk using the product import/export tool.

Royal Mail Non-Personal Correspondence Service Codes

On the subject of Royal Mail and needing to create more shipping methods and rules, we've also added support for 9 non-personal correspondence services! You can find a list of all the codes we've added below:

FedEx Signature Support

Great news for our FedEx users, Royal Mail isn't the only courier getting some love in this update, our FedEx integration now supports signature/sign for services.

Now, sign for works a little differently with FedEx, it doesn't have it's own service code within StoreFeeder, instead there is a toggle on the shipping method for "Signature Option" that you will have to switch on if you want to switch the selected service to be one that requires a signature, like so:

So you will still need to create another shipping method if you are still wanting to use the regular service as well, but you wont need to select a different service code, you'll just need to switch the toggle on instead.

APC Safe Place

As you can see, I wasn't kidding about Royal Mail not being the only courier to receive some attention, our APC integration has also received a handy update in the form of safe place support. All you need to do to enable this feature is edit your APC shipping methods and choose the desired option from the "APC Safe Place" drop down menu; whilst the field is empty, StoreFeeder treats it as being set to 'Not Allowed'

Finally….

There have been some great new features and fixes implemented in this last month's release's and we hope you find them useful in one way or another.

As always we’ll keep working hard to provide you with the best service we can.

From all of us here at StoreFeeder, happy selling.
