Welcome to the latest Release Updates post.
It's been a busy month and a half since I last posted a product update; we've had a record-breaking heatwave and won the Euro's (congrats to the Lionesses!) to name just a couple of things. Amongst everything else that's been going on, we've been hard at work making tweaks and updates to our beloved product as well as piecing together it's brand new version 3 look behind the scenes as mentioned in our 10th Birthday blog post.
As per usual, our developers have been working hard to bring you an exciting update this month. There has been a lot of work in the background but there have been some great updates and new features released in this update, the highlights of which are below:
EVRi/Hermes Multi-Consignment Support, Two Day Service & New Default Value
Quite a few updates to our EVRi integration this week! Here's what we've added:
Multi-Consignment Support
Perhaps the most exciting of the lot, we can now support orders with multiple parcels being despatched via EVRi.
Previously, since we were only able to create a single consignment per order, orders that were too big to fit into one parcel would have had to have been split in order to get the two separate consignments needed. This update means you simply won't need to do that anymore; we'll produce all labels needed, no matter the number of parcels on the order.
Amazon Logistics 2 Day Service
Although technically a change to our Amazon Logistics integration, I thought it made sense to tie it in with the EVRi changes.
We had customers reach out to us stating that they required EVRi's 2 day service to be available through our Amazon Logistics integration in order to meet Amazon's delivery deadlines. So that's exactly what we did, you can now go ahead and create a new shipping method and shipping rules for using EVRi's 2 day service via Amazon Logistics.
New Default Value - Email Address
In case you're unfamiliar with default values, it’s basically a function in StoreFeeder that can be used to automatically populate the fields on an order if the information is missing so the order can be validated at the point of despatch – you can find out how to set them up and further information about them here.
Hermes requires orders to have an email address associated with them in order to be despatched, so we've added a new default value that will allow you to fill in the email field when it's empty.
AIRN Support
In order to despatch to certain countries, you may be asked for an AIRN (Addressee Identification Reference Number). We've added the option to add an AIRN to your orders and save them against customers as well to stop you from having to enter it for every order from repeat customers.
To enter an AIRN on an order, you'll need to edit the order and look towards the 'Shipping & Handling' section where you'll find a new field titled "AIR Number" as shown below:
If you'd like to add an AIR Number against a customer so that it's added to each order they place, you can do so by opening their customer profile and adding it to the AIR Number field found under the 'Basic Info' section right at the top of the page:
Reducing Order Editing when on a Pickwave
In an attempt to reduce the amount of picking errors created by orders being changed whilst already on a pickwave, we've limited the ability to edit orders when they are assigned to a pickwave, specifically on the 'Edit Order' page.
You now won't be able to do the following without first removing the order from it's pickwave:
- Change quantity of items ordered
- Add new items to the order
- Remove items from the order
Hopefully, you'll find this change beneficial in reducing the amount of picking/packing errors in your business.
New Order Export Tokens
A short update but one that has been requested; we've added two new tokens to the list of exportable fields on the order export template. The new tokens are:
- Manifest Number
- Shipping Method Cost
If you need a refresher on setting up your order export template, you can find one here.
Finally….
There have been some great new features and fixes implemented in this release and we hope you find them useful in one way or another.
As always we’ll keep working hard to provide you with the best service we can.
From all of us here at StoreFeeder, happy selling.
