We call it StaffFeeder. Others call it a big helping hand.

Introduction:
At StoreFeeder, we believe in positively impacting the eCommerce industry and the communities we serve. That is why back in 2020, we launched an initiative called StaffFeeder, a good-willed endeavour that channels the power of our staff's appetite for the greater good. Donating the profits from our head office's staff canteen to local charities fosters a sense of purpose and compassion while supporting organisations that make a difference in people’s lives. In this blog post, we will explore why we embarked on this initiative, its significance for smaller charities, and its profound benefits to our team.
Empowering local charities:
Small local charities are vital in addressing pressing social issues and uplifting communities. However, they often face financial challenges because they do not have the profile of larger charities with high street and television presence. Through StaffFeeder, we aim to help these charities by providing them with a financial boost. By directly donating the profits from our staff canteen, we can make a tangible and meaning fuldifference in the lives of those who need it most.
Amplifying impact:
The collective efforts of our team, driven by a shared passion for helping others, have had a tremendous impact on the selected charities. By pooling together, the proceeds generated through our love for Space Raiders and Kit Kats, we can generate substantial funds that enable smaller charities to continue their invaluable work. Together, we amplify the impact of our contributions, creating a ripple effect of positive change.
Fostering team unity and morale:
StaffFeeder benefits the chosen charities and nurtures our team'sstrong sense of unity and camaraderie. As we vote on which charities to support, our staff members actively engage in meaningful conversations and develop a deeper understanding of the causes close to their hearts. This shared experience strengthens bonds, boosts morale, and instils being part of a company that genuinely cares about making a difference.
Spreading joy and gratitude:
For the 22/23 financial year, the charity we chose was Love4Life. This Loughborough-based charity was set up in 2008 in response to a growing concern for the well-being and safety of girls from an estate in Loughborough. Since then, Love4Life has grown to work across multiple areas of deprivation across Leicestershire, Leicester, and Derby: supporting hundreds ofyoung people aged 11-18 years every year.
Jessica, aged 16, said, "From this day on, when I look back on the past, I will smile and say to myself, I never thought I could do it…. But I did… I did do it. And it was Love4Life that helped me to do it".
Tori, aged 14, “Before my one-to-one sessions with Love4Life, I was not that confident and was a bit nervous and scared that I would be in trouble, so I did not always go to school. Now I feel confident, able to make friends, talk, smile, have self-care and be happy. After talking to my youth worker, I felt happy and excited. I love all the sessions and now go to school regularly”.
Joanna Burrows, the head of fundraising for Love4Life, said,“We were surprised and grateful that the staff at StoreFeeder chose us and managed to raise over £3000 for this incredible cause. We, and hundreds of young people, thank you.”
Conclusion:
StaffFeeder represents our commitment to giving back, supporting local charities, and fostering a sense of unity and purpose within our team. By directing the profits from our staff canteen to organisations that create positive change, we contribute to the betterment of our community and inspire others to do the same. Through this initiative, we celebrate the power of collective action, knowing that even our cravings for sugar and saturated fats can be harnessed to make a remarkable difference in the lives of those in need.
