Welcome to the latest Release Updates post.

I hope we're all looking forward to the Jubilee weekend? Whether you'll be partying in the streets celebrating our Majesty's 70th year of service or just enjoying the extra bank holidays, I'm sure one will find a way to keep one's self amused.

I'm certainly nowhere near my 70th year of service for StoreFeeder but the first update in this blog is certainly one of the more interesting I've seen in my time here, a redesign of how we summarise stock and handle the "Unspecified Location"; keep reading to find out more...

As per usual, our developers have been working hard to bring you an exciting update this month. There has been a lot of work in the background but there have been some great updates and new features released in this update, the highlights of which are below:

Stock Summary Redesign

Over the years we've found that, on occasion, the way we present stock information can be misinterpreted; more specifically I'm referring to the dreaded "Unspecified Location". This location gets used almost as a balancing tool when stock has been ordered but not taken from a location yet, it was used as a means to keep stock numbers accurate for selling purposes whilst also making sure that stock wasn't taken from a pick bin before it had been picked.

Honestly, I can see why it could be confusing when you might see negative stock in a location associated with a product; your mind might instantly start thinking that something was wrong with your stock levels and, as we've seen in the past, you might try and balance it out yourself. This led to errors in stock and overall confusion that we simply didn't want to carry on. Enter, the stock summary redesign.

Now, I aim to keep these notes somewhat short and sweet. There are a lot of changes to where things are now located and how they work so we actually have a separate blog post that you can read regarding these changes. You can also get further information on the changes through our knowledgebase articles:

Additional Information on FedEx & DHL Parcel UK Labels

Not quite on the same scale as the first update mentioned but certainly one that our DHL Parcel UK & FedEx users may like to see - We've added the option to add additional information to your DHL Parcel UK & FedEx labels.

If you want additional information to appear on your labels, you will have to set this on a shipping method level - this meaning, you'll need to change all your DHL Parcel UK/FedEx shipping method's additional information options if you want it to appear on each service you use. See an example below:

CSV Order Import History

For StoreFeeder admin users, you can now check your history of CSV order imports. If you head over to the CSV Order Import page, you'll notice a new tab on the left for "Import History".

Here, you'll be able to see a record of your imports, you can find out:

  • The channel the orders were imported to.
  • Who imported it.
  • When it was imported.
  • How many orders were in the import.
  • How many errors were in the import.
  • Which fields were mapped.
  • The name of the file that was uploaded.

We hope this helps put your mind at rest when uploading multiple files or are expecting a file to have been imported.

Finally….

There have been some great new features and fixes implemented in this release and we hope you find them useful in one way or another.

As always we’ll keep working hard to provide you with the best service we can.

From all of us here at StoreFeeder, happy selling.
