Welcome to the latest Release Updates post.

Crikey! It's hot outside... In fact, as I'm writing this I've got the fan on max right next to my face blowing a nice stream of hot air at me. As a fair-skinned hayfever sufferer, it's looking pretty bleak for me; perhaps there may be a new author for the release notes next time.

Speaking of which, the release notes this week are relatively short, there's been a lot more work behind the scenes this time around. There's some great stuff in the pipeline that I'm excited to talk about but simply can't just yet.

As per usual, our developers have been working hard to bring you an exciting update this month. There has been a lot of work in the background but there have been some great updates and new features released in this update, the highlights of which are below:

Royal Mail Delivery Duty Paid Services

Here's a nice update that's been requested a fair bit recently; we now support the use of delivery duty paid (DDP) services in StoreFeeder. If you have DDP services enabled on your OBA account, you should now be able to create shipping methods for the following services:

  • International Business Parcel Untracked DDP
  • International Business Parcel Tracked DDP
  • International Business Parcel Tracked & Signed DDP

Before using DDP services in StoreFeeder, it's absolutely essential that you have entered the following information on each of the company identities that you'll be using the services with:

  • EORI Number (If any of your orders are going to EU)
  • Company VAT Number
  • Customs declaration category

It's also crucial that you have customs information entered against the products that you'll be shipping abroad.

Last but not least, if an order you're wanting to send with DDP is to a European country and valued at over €150, you'll need to declare a duty cost. You can enter this cost by editing the order; you'll find a new field titled "Duty Paid Value" appears if you have a DDP service selected as shown below.

Hermes Phone Number Default Value

Shipping with Hermes requires a phone number against the order; without a phone number, the order won't pass validation when you try to despatch it and StoreFeeder will ask you to enter one against the order.

To save you a little time we've added 'phone number' as a new default value for Hermes orders, hopefully, this makes life a little easier for you.

In case you didn't know what default values are, it's basically a function in StoreFeeder that can be used to automatically populate the fields on an order if the information is missing so the order can be validated at the point of despatch - you can find out how to set them up and further information about them here.

Finally….

There have been some great new features and fixes implemented in this release and we hope you find them useful in one way or another.

As always we’ll keep working hard to provide you with the best service we can.

From all of us here at StoreFeeder, happy selling.
